A Day in the Life of a Dog at Our Boarding Facility
Being able to identify and interpret dog body language is our bread and butter. Without these skills, we wouldn’t be able to confidently welcome and secure new guests to our daycare and boarding facility every single day. In fact, knowing how a dog feels based on their behavior and appearance helps us anticipate and meet their needs, and exceed their owner’s expectations. If you haven’t seen us in action before, you are always welcome to visit. In the meantime, we are happy to provide a snapshot of our daily routine at The Bark Park Pet Resort & Daycare.
What To Expect With Us
Our team has to stay on our toes to ensure everyone’s comfort and safety. In addition to physical exercise, our guests benefit from a balance of down-time and rest. It is this healthy mix of action, social engagement, and cozy snuggle time that leads to positive and satisfying experiences.
Boarding Versus Daycare
Our daycare guests can choose between half or full days Monday through Friday. Our boarding guests stay here after all the daycare dogs have gone home for the day, and if their reservation calls for it, through the weekends as well. With daycare, pets get:
- Cognitive stimulation
- Tailored activities
- Reduced stress
Boarding guests can enjoy:
- Access to park play all day
- Premium raised bed
- Up to 3 months in their rooms daily
- Daily housekeeping each morning as needed
- Round-the-clock care and attention
Enriching Pet Activities
We start every day at 7 a.m. with our morning routine. We clean and sanitize the kennels and all shared surfaces, wash the bedding, and prepare breakfast for each guest. We take the time to review and implement dietary restrictions and portion sizes. Then it’s off to clean up any messes and get started on the day’s enriching pet activities, such as:
- Group play time
- Scent games
- Puzzle feeders
- Agility
- Fetch
- Tag
- Flirt pole
The afternoons are structured around some quiet time, individualized activities, spa appointments, and training sessions. If guests need more mental stimulation at this point in the day, we work on obedience skills and tricks to take home and show off.
The Witching Hour
Before you know it, it’s time to serve dinner and get our guests tucked in for the night. Before lights are dimmed and outside doors secured, we check on every pet to ensure they are comfortable, acting normally, and have everything they need, like blankets and water, to get through the night.
For some new guests, the challenges around the bedtime routine can be the hardest to overcome. Our team takes the time to soothe any fears or anxieties, administer necessary medications, and reach out to pet owners directly with daily updates.
